Job Description – Junior/Medior Project Engineer LINES Mission We ARE looking for a Project Engineer LINES, you will contribute to the development of Belgium's high-voltage transmission infrastructure. Working within a key player in the Belgian energy landscape, you will help deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable overhead line projects that support the country's evolving energy system. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that overhead line engineering works are designed, validated, and implemented to the highest technical and safety standards. Role Overview The Project Engineer LINES plays a central technical role within the Engineering Department. You are responsible for guiding the technical development of overhead line projects across voltage levels (380 kV, 220 kV, 150 kV, 70 kV, 36 kV). You ensure that designs are coherent, compliant, and feasible, while supporting the Project Leader with expert technical insights that drive project success. Key Responsibilities
Participate in the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and conceptual design to detailed engineering, implementation, and project closure.
Lead and validate the technical scope for overhead line projects, ensuring alignment with standards, regulations, and operational requirements.
Conduct or review technical studies related to route selection, tower design, mechanical loads, conductor sag, electrical clearances, and environmental or safety constraints.
Guide and coordinate the technical design team (internal and external), ensuring quality and consistency throughout all engineering outputs.
Identify potential risks, impacts, or deviations arising from design changes or new concepts and proactively address them.
Ensure technical integration between design teams, technical experts, and the Project Leader.
Prepare and deliver progress reports, technical notes, and documentation to maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
Support the evaluation of suppliers, contractors, and engineering partners when required.
Required Profile
Master's degree in Engineering (civil, electrical, electromechanics, mechanical, or related field).
Strong interest in energy infrastructure, electricity transmission, structural engineering, or electromechanics.
Knowledge of high-voltage electricity systems is an advantage.
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
Very good command of French; understanding of Dutch and English is required.
Ability to work methodically, follow technical standards, and manage multiple priorities.
